Hello readers, welcome to another entry of my blog. Today I want to talk about how books have helped me fight depression.
From a very young age, one of my hobbies has been reading. Since I only read school books, some of my favorites were: 1984, Another twist, The iliad and son of a thief.
Reading is something I love to do even if it is more of a duty than a hobby.
During the pandemic, i started to present many symptoms of depression, so I began with psychological and psychiatric treatment. Since we couldn't go out or see family or friends, I got more and more depressed. One day during the quarantine, I decided to read a fantasy book that was recommended to me on a YouTube video. This book is called "Shadowhunters", and I simply loved it.
I investigated more of this book and I discovered that it was a saga of 6 books. And that's how i found shelter in books, and a way to spend my time without thinking about how sad I felt.
Books have made me discover that I can travel to different places, even worlds, so I stopped feeling alone and they became my safe place in the world.
